The Kayalu Gear Locking Suction Video Camera Mount is a rugged mount, manufactured by RAM Mounting Systems and enhanced with the addition of Kayalu marine-grade accessories.
This mount provides a unique opportunity for you to secure your video camera, SLR or speedlight using a locking vacuum cup design similar to the mechanical suction cups used by professional glass installers.
The versatile head of this Kayalu/RAM product, including its 1/4"-20 tripod screw, is 100% constructed of high-strength composite not the ABS plastic and zinc-plated steel construction of competitive camera heads. The head's threaded stud is posted atop a wide base, providing your video camera or larger SLR with stable support.
A Kayalu Gear SBR rubber bushing on the 1/4" stud secures your equipment and protects it from abrasion.
The ball-and-socket design includes a spring-loaded arm, constructed of high-strength composite. The handle can be loosened for positioning your camera, and tightened with a single hand.
The locking suction cup at the base of this unit provides an exceptionally strong grip by comparison with competitive suction-based mounts. This mount, cleanly affixed to any non-porous surface (glass, steel, fiberglass, enamel, plastic, etc.), can secure optical devices weighing up to 2 lbs. (.9 kg).
The mount can be affixed to a kayak, waterboard, surfboard, car fender or boat windshield by power-locking its vacuum grip to the surface through the action of a mechanical lever arm. To remove the mount, you simply twist the lock counter-clockwise and pull up a small rubber tab.
The Kayalu Gear nylon-coated bungee tether has a steel breech clip, securing your mount and equipment if bumped or disengaged.
